On December 1, it became known that the Syktyvkar prosecutor's office issued a warning to the newspaper Diocesan Vedomosti and the author of the article "Caution: destructive movements, sects and cults!" Baptist Christians said they were satisfied with the actions of the prosecutor's office.
Recall that in July 2009 the newspaper published an article "Caution: destructive movements, sects and cults!", in which the Baptists were classified as "sectarians". Baptists filed a statement with the prosecutor's office , which stated that the author of the article incites hatred, provokes inter-religious conflict and offends the feelings of believers.
The prosecutor's office rejected this application on the basis of a comprehensive linguistic analysis carried out by employees of the ethnography department of the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
However, the author of the article and the publication received a warning not to allow further publications that affect the honor and dignity of adherents of various religious organizations, which, according to linguistic experts, took place in the article.
