Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree establishing diplomatic relations with the Vatican

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree "On the establishment of diplomatic relations with the Vatican".

The Russian Foreign Ministry has been instructed to hold talks with the Vatican on establishing diplomatic relations at the level of the Russian Embassy in the Vatican and the Apostolic Nunciature in Russia, as well as on transforming the Russian representation in the Vatican into an embassy.
