Far-right battles at the Ministry of Emergency Situations site

On December 6, 2009, the ultra-right movement "Resistance" led by Roman Zentsov held an ultimate fighting competition, in which about 100 people took part (not counting the spectators, who, according to estimates of the ultra-right, were about 200). In addition to the fact that the event did not attract the attention of the St. Petersburg police, the scandal of the situation lies in the fact that the competitions were held in a hall owned by the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

Roman Zentsov, a former athlete, ex-world champion in ultimate fighting, never hid his ultra-right views, for a long time he openly acted as a trainer of neo-Nazis (in particular, from the Slavic Union). Currently, the movement he leads is closely cooperating with the far-right Russian Image.

Meanwhile, representatives of official structures and pro-Kremlin youth organizations often prefer not to notice the ideological component of the movement he leads, providing him with their sites both for holding competitions (as happened with the Ministry of Emergency Situations) and for propaganda (for example, an interview with Zentsov was published on the website " Young Guards of United Russia.) All this creates Zentsov's image of a man who enjoys the patronage of the authorities.
