In Veliky Novgorod, a trial began in the case of preparing a terrorist attack in the city

On December 2, 2009, a criminal trial began in Veliky Novgorod against a resident of Kislovodsk, 36-year-old Vladimir Timoshenko, who planned to commit a terrorist attack during the city’s celebration of the international holiday “Hanseatic Days of the New Time.”

The accused is charged with Part 1 of Art. 205 (preparation for a terrorist attack), Part 1 of Article 222 (illegal trafficking in weapons, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices) and Part 1 of Article 223 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal manufacture of weapons).

Tymoshenko was detained by officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the FSB of the Russian Federation in Veliky Novgorod on June 11.

During the first court hearing, Tymoshenko fully admitted his guilt.

On December 3, Larisa Bannikova, deputy director of the Novgorod State Museum-Reserve, spoke in court with a story about the Novgorod Kremlin.
