On December 14, 2009, a 28-year-old member of the neo-pagan community "Ros" was arrested in Vladimir, detained on December 10 on suspicion of attacking the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius on December 6.
The detainee confessed to the attack on the temple. "The detainee said that his community had learned that a homosexual parishioner was visiting the temple. As a sign of protest, the neo-pagans decided to blow up the church ," said Irina Minina, senior assistant to the head of the RF Investigative Committee for the Vladimir Region for media relations.
The suspect also confessed to sending a letter of "extremist content" to the administration of Vladimir's "RusKino" cinema with threats of an explosion in the event of a concert by Boris Moiseyev. The envelope contained a plastic bag containing an explosive.
The investigation into the case was completed in April 2010. On April 6, 2010, the case was sent to court.
