The prosecutor's office of Urai filed a lawsuit against the Internet provider

On December 14, 2009, the prosecutor's office of the city of Urai (Yugra), based on the results of the audit, filed a lawsuit in court to impose on the Internet provider "PiP" LLC the obligation to restrict access to information of an extremist nature on the Internet.

Earlier, in the course of monitoring the Internet, the prosecutor's office of the city revealed the fact of free access of citizens of users to "electronic resources of an extremist orientation, containing information materials of public organizations, whose activities are currently officially prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation . " It has been established that services for connecting legal entities and individuals to the Internet in the city of Urai are provided by PIP LLC.

It should be reminded that earlier in Ugra representations were made to heads of schools and an orphanage, as well as a lawsuit was filed against the Khanty-Mansiysk branch of telecommunications of OJSC "Uralsvyazinform" on imposing the obligation to restrict access to information of an "extremist nature". Also, the prosecutor's office of the city of Urai made a presentation to the head of the city's education department.
