On December 11, the administration of the village of Solovetsky held public hearings on the problems of the archipelago. The hearing was attended by the head of the village, Mikhail Lopatkin, the director of the Solovetsky Museum-Reserve, the rector of the monastery, Archimandrite Porfiry (Shutov) , the inhabitants of the monastery and museum staff.
As a result of the hearings, a Public Supervisory Council on the problems of the village and the museum, consisting of 25 people, was created under the head of the village administration. The council, together with the director of the museum, will develop joint programs, taking into account the wishes of the population of the islands, coordinating the actions of the administration, the monastery and the museum. A plan for the improvement of the village has already been agreed upon.
