In Ufa, the case of publications in the newspaper "Maidan" was brought to court

On December 15, 2009, the investigating authorities of the RF Investigative Committee for Bashkiria completed the investigation of the criminal case against Airat Dilmukhametov, editor-in-chief of the Maidan newspaper, and Robert Zagreev, editor-in-chief of the Revinform website. The case, together with the approved indictment, was sent to the district court for consideration on the merits.

Dilmukhametov and Zagreev were charged under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls to carry out extremist activities using the media), Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls to carry out terrorist activities or public justification of terrorism) and Part 1 of Article 282 Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred or enmity, committed publicly, using the media).

Zagreev and Dilmukhametov in November 2008 released an addendum to the Maidan newspaper, in which they published a series of articles with "extremist content" . This information was posted on the website of IA "Revinform". It is reported that "Dilmukhametov publicly addressed the audience of the publication and the Internet resource through a series of his own articles and articles by unknown authors, "which contain public calls for extremist activities . " "Maidan". The issue of the newspaper was distributed in the republic. Several more issues of the newspaper of various circulations were issued, "in which readers were encouraged to create and join illegal gangs, the ideology of violence was propagated using special linguistic techniques, speech tactics and language means" .

During the investigation, the defendants pleaded not guilty.

It should be recalled that in November 2009, the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa declared Maidan newspaper to be extremist . the January 2009 issue of the reversed this decision. The Revinform website was recognized as extremist by the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa (the court decision entered into force).
