On December 8, 2009, V.P. Zavalsky, a resident of Novokuybyshevsk, Samara Region, was sentenced under Part 1 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (threat of murder or infliction of grievous bodily harm) to imprisonment for a period of 1 year and 4 months suspended with a probationary period of 1 year for threatening Jehovah's Witnesses.
Preachers came to his house, Zavalsky invited them to enter, after which he began brandishing a knife and threatening violence. The Jehovah's Witnesses turned on the recorder and then called the police. A criminal case was initiated.
It should be reminded that in October 2009 a woman, a Jehovah's Witness, was beaten in the Leningrad region .
