List of Roskomnadzor warnings for 2009

We publish a general list of warnings issued to the media by Roskomnadzor for "carrying out extremist activities" in 2009. In total, the department issued 33 warnings ( in 2008 28 ). Of these, we consider at least 15 warnings unlawful (in 2008 there were 6 such warnings).

One edition - "To the Barrier!" (which became the successor to the Duel newspaper, which was closed down under anti-extremist legislation), two warnings were issued during the year, and now Roskomnadzor has initiated a lawsuit to liquidate this newspaper as well.

Recall that Roskomnadzor itself considers a number of warnings in 2009 "unreasonable." What this means is not clear, but these warnings have not been removed from the list. We highlight such warnings in italics in the list.

The article itself was recognized as extremist material and included in the Federal List under number 454. However, the legality of the court decision and, accordingly, the warning is not obvious.
