It is planned to transfer the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow to the Russian Orthodox Church

The Ministry of Culture has scheduled the transfer of the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow to the Russian Orthodox Church in 2010. The branch of the State Historical Museum located on the territory of the monastery will be withdrawn from there.

It is supposed to transfer to the monastery the iconostasis located in one of the temples. Another iconostasis will be brought to the monastery and left for storage.

It was decided to leave the necropolis of the Novodevichy Convent under the jurisdiction of the Moscow government.
