Ethnic discrimination in a Yakut club

On January 15, 2010, in Yakutsk (Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)) an Armenian who came in company was not allowed into the Love nightclub. According to the club's guards, "persons of Caucasian nationality are not allowed to enter" by order of the management.

The administrator of the club, "who introduced himself as Nikolai" to a correspondent of one of the media, confirmed by phone that people with a Caucasian appearance were not allowed to enter the club. He explained this by the fact that "persons of Caucasian nationality occupied the club and are behaving violently, impudently, a fight was recently provoked by them . " According to him, the guards at the entrance "are guided by their own criteria for assessing appearance and facial features . "

Recall that the practice of discrimination against visitors to establishments was noted repeatedly, for example, in the Yaroslavl region in 2007 and in St. Petersburg in 2008, in one of the Moscow restaurants in September 2009.
