On January 26, 2010, the Moscow City Court delivered a guilty verdict in the case of two racists who attacked a group of people of non-Slavic appearance in February 2009, as a result of which one person died.
The court found Yegor Kostyunin guilty under paragraphs. "i, l" Part 2 Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder motivated by national hatred) and according to paragraphs. "a, b" part 1 of Art. 213 (hooliganism motivated by national hatred) and sentenced him to 9 years in a strict regime colony.
Mikhail Kirillov was found guilty under paragraphs. "i, l" Part 2 Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder motivated by ethnic hatred), according to paragraphs. "a, b" part 1 of Art. 213 (hooliganism committed on motives of national hatred) and according to paragraph "a" part 2 of Art. 282 (inciting the national hatred with the use of violence) and sentenced to 4 years in a colony-settlement.
