In 2008-2009, ownership of 403 ensembles in St. Petersburg was delineated : 196 of them were registered as federal property, 204 as city property, and 3 as common shared ownership. Another 13 objects still remain on the “disputed list.” Their status is expected to be determined during 2010.
These 13 include the Smolny Monastery complex, Peter and Paul and St. Isaac's Cathedrals, the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and the Alexander Nevsky Lavra.
Let us remember that in January 2010, the Orthodox Christians turned to the authorities with a request to transfer to them 4 churches of the Lavra. These temples are on the balance sheet of the State Museum of Urban Sculpture of St. Petersburg.
