The sentence to Alexey Nikiforov came into force

On January 26, 2010, the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Yekaterinburg upheld the decision to sentence former National Bolshevik Alexei Nikiforov to 1 year in prison under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the activities of an extremist organization).

The prosecutor insisted on increasing the sentence to one and a half years, and the defense side insisted on closing the case.

This decision will be appealed by Nikiforov's lawyers by way of cassation in the regional court.
