Public organizations "Circassian Congress" and "Adyge Khase" are outraged by the installation of numerous worship crosses in Adygea.

“In the mountains, at each peak, the task is to put these multi-meter iron crosses everywhere. I don’t know how they go up there, how they are placed, but even on the sacred mountain, where the Adygs prayed to their god, even there is a cross,” he told Kavkazsky knot" head of the "Circassian Congress" Murat Berzegov.

"I live in a secular state, I have the right to say that: believers, for the sake of God, put whatever you want in the allotted territories, but not in public places. This is not a Muslim, not a Christian state. This is a secular state," he said.

In December 2009, members of "Adyghe Khase" questioned the installation of Orthodox crosses with the President of the Republic, Aslan Tkhakushinov.

The Maykop diocese does not believe that the installation of crosses can offend anyone's religious feelings. In addition, in each case, the installation has permission from the authorities: “If you take the title documents, then they have it, but not everyone has it. Not for all worship crosses. That's for sure".

Recall that in 2005-2006 "Adyghe Khase" and "Circassian Congress" protested against the installation of a monument to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, but the monument was nevertheless erected .

In 2009, two worship crosses were damaged in Adygea .
