On February 15, 2010, it became known that the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the European Part of Russia (DUMER) decided to establish its representative offices in the Volga, Northwestern, Central and Southern federal districts.
The representative office in the Central Federal District will be located in Moscow, and its representative will be Arslan Sadriev, currently the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Council of Muftis of Russia.
The representative office in the Volga Federal District will be located in Nizhny Novgorod, and Damir Mukhetdinov, currently the deputy head of the local muftiate, will become its head.
The plenipotentiary in the Northwestern Federal District with the center in St. Petersburg will be the director of the madrasah. Sultanova (Ufa) Ildar Malakhov.
The center of representation in the Southern Federal District will be located in Sochi, and Marat Alimov, Deputy Head of the Department for Work with Local Religious Organizations of the DUMER, will become its head.
Each of the plenipotentiaries receives the status of deputy chairman of the DUMER and the dignity of the mufti.
