The administration of Izhevsk is preventing the construction of a Protestant church

In 2000, the Church of Evangelical Christians "Faith Acting by Love" began construction of a temple in Izhevsk. The project passed the state examination, the church received permission for the first stage of construction and built the foundation and basement. In 2002-2004 an insulated metal hangar was installed on the site, where parishioners held services.

In 2009, in connection with the adoption of the new Urban Planning Code, the church submitted all the documents to the city administration. Public hearings were held, following which the administration of Izhevsk gave permission to use the land for construction.

On December 16, 2009, the city's land use and development commission refused to use the site, citing violations committed by the church during construction. What these violations are, the decision of the commission did not say.

In July 2009, the prosecutor's office conducted an inspection of compliance with urban planning legislation and banned worship in the hangar. Protestants cannot find another meeting place because the owners of the premises suitable for this are refusing to rent, citing an unspoken ban by the FSB.

The parishioners of the "Faith Acting by Love" church continue to gather in the hangar, having eliminated all violations of fire safety requirements and submitted the relevant documents to the prosecutor's office.

The Slavic Legal Center sent a request to the administration of Izhevsk about the reasons for opposing the construction of the temple.
