Statistical data about the Barnaul diocese

On March 3, the annual meeting of the Altai diocese took place in Barnaul. The report of Bishop Maxim (Dmitriev) of Barnaul and Altai contained statistical data about the diocese.

“In the Barnaul diocese there are 254 churches and chapels, of which: 2 cathedrals; 5 monastery churches; 52 chapels. In addition, 32 churches are under construction. 156 priests and 19 deacons serve in the parishes; a total of 175 clergy. 7 priests and 1 deacon. In total there are 8 clergy in the monasteries. The total number of clergy is 183 clergy. This number does not include 10 clergy who are on staff, 32 clergy who are prohibited from serving. The training of candidates for the priesthood and other church workers is carried out by the Barnaul Theological Seminary. and the Regency School, under the BDS. There are 117 Sunday schools in the diocese,” reports the website of the Barnaul diocese.
