Baptists beaten in Khabarovsk Territory

In February 2010, two Baptists were beaten in the village of Obor (Khabarovsk Territory).

The head of the administration of the Oborsky rural settlement, Sergei Borisov, and four local residents broke into the house where the Baptist meeting was taking place and demanded Yevgeny Gudym, deacon of the Khabarovsk Baptist Church and Pastor Grigory Andreyanov, to drive with them to S. Borisov's personal office. When the Baptists refused, they were forced into a car and beaten. As a result, Yevgeny Gudym's nose was broken.

According to the Baptists, Sergei Borisov had previously stated that he was Orthodox and would not tolerate other believers here.

The victims filed a complaint with the police.

This became known on March 10, 2010.
