On March 24, 2010, a case against a 21-year-old student accused under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity committed in public). The case was approved by the prosecutor of the city of Petrozavodsk.
According to the investigation, the young man posted a video file of a nationalistic, "extremist nature" on the Internet in order to "propaganda the ideas of neo-fascism and attract supporters of neo-fascism . " According to experts, the video file contains calls to carry out actions of an extremist nature, is aimed at inciting ethnic and religious hatred, and is frank and aggressive propaganda of neo-fascism.
Let us recall that in October 2009 a similar case was sent to the Petrozavodsk City Court against Timur Sh., accused under part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity committed in public), who posted on the network a video with anti-Semitic, anti-Asian and anti-Caucasian appeals and propaganda of neo-Nazism.
