Museum staff have compiled a list of churches to determine the frequency of services

Director of the Museum of Ancient Russian Culture named after. Andrei Rublev, Gennady Popov, in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets, said that museum employees have prepared a number of proposals regarding the upcoming bill on “On the transfer to religious organizations of property for religious purposes that is in state or municipal ownership.”

In particular, museum workers compiled a list of categories of Russian churches: “The first includes those where services can be held as often as desired. The second includes those where you can serve while observing certain precautions. And the third includes churches that are in poor condition or are absolutely unique in their their paintings, and therefore it is advisable to serve there on rare occasions or not to serve at all.”

The proposals were sent to Patriarch Kirill, who expressed his readiness to cooperate.

According to G. Popov, the existing version of the bill does not deal with museum, library and archival funds. The valuables contained in them will remain there and will not be transferred to the Church.

Let us recall that scientists and cultural workers have already appealed to church and secular authorities with a request to prevent the adoption of the law in its existing form.
