An Ekaterinburg human rights activist filed a complaint against the diocese with the prosecutor's office in connection with the statements of Archbishop Vikenty

On April 2, 2010, it became known that the official website of the Yekaterinburg diocese published a selection of statements from city residents who opposed the construction of the Church of St. Catherine on Labor Square. Their remarks are given without comments, but under the heading "CHURCH OF SAINT CATHERINE: LET HISTORY REMEMBER THESE NAMES ...", "Ura.ru" reports.

Recall that many residents of Yekaterinburg strongly opposed the construction of another temple in the city center.

Earlier, Vladyka Vincentiy declared that "not a single person who resisted God died a natural death," and "God's punishment has been passed down for seven generations."

On April 6, it became known that Yekaterinburg human rights activist Vyacheslav Bashkov sent complaints against the diocese to the prosecutor's office. He believes that in the statements of Archbishop Vikenty regarding the restoration of the temple on the square, there is incitement of inter-religious hatred.
