Muslim women beaten in St. Petersburg

On April 5, 2010, two young Muslim women wearing hijabs were attacked in the metro in St. Petersburg. The passengers roughly pushed the girls out of the subway car. One of them was hit in the face, the victim bled from her nose.

"I'm sure this is not an isolated incident, just not everyone is reporting attacks ," said Muhammad Khenni, head of the St. Petersburg Islamic Cultural Center.
