In Kabardino-Balkaria, the court recognized the materials posted on the Islam Din website as extremist.

On April 8, 2010, it became known that in Kabardino-Balkaria, at the suit of the prosecutor of the republic, the court decided to recognize as extremist a number of information materials published on the Islam Din website. The withdrawal of information from this resource has already been carried out.

In February 2010, the Investigative Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the republic opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for extremist activities).

Linguistic examination concluded that the text of the three materials posted on the site contains a number of statements of a derogatory nature in relation to "enemies of Islam" and "pagans", to which the authors include representatives of all faiths except Islam. In addition, the texts of publications contain signs of extremism. The content of the materials posted on the site, according to experts, is aimed at inciting racial and religious hatred.

The Nalchik city court agreed with the position of the prosecutor's office and recognized the materials in question as extremist.

After the court's decision comes into force, the prosecutor's office of the republic intends to raise the issue of recognizing the Islam Din website as extremist and banning its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.
