On April 7, 2010, 19-year-old and 20-year-old residents of the city were detained in Saratov, suspected of attacking a student of the National Tatar Gymnasium.
The issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved. The detainees admitted that they insulted the schoolgirl, but denied the fact of beating the girl. "They did not express any statements of an extremist nature and calls for violence ," the media say. Police officers also stated that there was no beating. The girl's father, who had previously stated about the beating, refuted what was said earlier and said that there were no bruises on his daughter's body, it was decided to refuse to conduct an examination.
It should be noted that one of the detainees - a 19-year-old young man - was previously convicted and served his sentence in a colony-settlement.
