Neo-Nazi convicted in Severodvinsk

On April 15, 2010, the Severodvinsk City Court (Arkhangelsk Region) delivered a guilty verdict under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred committed publicly or with the use of the media) against 21-year-old Nikolai Kazanin.

The court sentenced the young man to 180 hours of compulsory work.

N. Kazanin fully admitted his guilt and repented of his deed.

The investigation was carried out by the investigative department of the RF Investigative Committee for the Arkhangelsk Region and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

Recall that from September 2008 to August 2009, the defendant posted Nazi photographs on his page on the VKontakte network and posted four videos with beatings of natives from Central Asia and the Caucasus. The criminal case against N. Kazanin was initiated in February 2010, the charge was brought on March 19, 2010.

In June 2010, the Severodvinsk City Court replaced N. Kazanin's unserved part of the sentence in the form of compulsory work for a period of 148 hours with real imprisonment for a period of 18 days with a sentence to be served in a colony-settlement for malicious evasion from compulsory work.
