On April 16, a distributor of Islamic newspapers was detained in Stachek Square in St. Petersburg. At the police station, 14 copies of the As Salam newspaper and 3 copies of the Nur-ul Islam newspaper were confiscated from him.
As the website "Sankt-Peterburg.ru" notes, "As Salam" is a Muslim newspaper published in Dagestan in Russian, Avar, Dargin, Kumyk, Lak, Lezgi and Tabasaran languages. The founder is the charitable foundation "Way". Both newspapers cover Islam and the life of Muslims in Russia and abroad.
