In St. Petersburg, Roskomnadzor made an unsuccessful attempt to appeal the cancellation of the warning to Novaya Gazeta.

On April 27, 2010, the Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg refused the Roskomnadzor office for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region's request to restore the deadline for filing a cassation appeal against the decision to cancel the warning to Novaya Gazeta in St. Petersburg.

Let us recall that in November 2009, the Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg invalidated the warning about the inadmissibility of extremist activity issued to the newspaper by Rossvyazohrankultura in August for quoting from the DPNI.

Let us note that at the end of March 2010, a similar warning was issued to the federal newspaper Novaya Gazeta for an article about the nationalist organization Russian Image.
