Artem Loskutov's sentence upheld

On May 12, 2010, the Novosibirsk Regional Court upheld the verdict of the Dzerzhinsky District Court of Novosibirsk, handed down to Artem Loskutov in March 2010.

Let us remind you that Loskutov was sentenced under Part 1 of Art. 228 (illegal acquisition or storage of narcotic drugs without the purpose of sale) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation to a fine of 20 thousand rubles.

Let us remind you that we are following this case, since Loskutov’s arrest was carried out by employees of the local center “E”, who had previously repeatedly shown interest in the artist’s social activities, which causes bewilderment, since he was not charged with an extremist article. Loskutov himself and witnesses to his arrest claim that the drugs were planted on him by law enforcement officers.

The artist intends to appeal the verdict in a supervisory procedure, as well as appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.

On June 22, 2010, the artist’s lawyer filed a complaint against the verdict with the Presidium of the Novosibirsk Regional Court.
