Jehovah's Witnesses filed a supervisory complaint against the decision to ban the organization in Taganrog and a number of materials

On May 12, 2010, lawyers for the religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses filed a supervisory complaint with the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation against the decisions of the Judicial Collegium for Civil Cases of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the Rostov Regional Court to recognize the local religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses "Taganrog" as extremist and to ban a number of materials of the organization.

Arli Chimirov and Viktor Shipilov, representing the interests of Jehovah's Witnesses, say that this illegal decision is used to legitimize the persecution of members of this religious organization in Russia.
