On May 21, 2010, Ivan Kartsev, a resident of Nevinnomyssk, was convicted in the Stavropol Territory, a participant in the Internet project "Big Game", who distributed banknotes with the inscription "Do not buy from blacks." The court found him guilty under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity).
The defendant was sentenced by the Nevinnomyssk city court to 1 year of probation, suspended for one year.
Linguistic examination confirmed the presence of the idea of inciting national hatred in the inscription on banknotes. Note that we know only one inscription on banknotes within the framework of the "Great Game", most likely it appeared on the banknotes in the case. In our opinion, in order to understand that this inscription is racist, an examination is not required.
June 15, 2010 a representative of the prosecutor's office of Nevinnomyssk (Stavropol Territory) reported on that sent a cassation appeal against the verdict. The prosecutor's office intends to achieve the replacement of the conditional term with a real one. The Stavropol Regional Court accepted for consideration the case against I. Kartsev, but on July 15 it was discontinued and sent back to Nevinnomyssky city Court. The reason for this was the fact discovered by the lawyer of the accused full recording of the trial in the city court.
Earlier, Kartsev planted a dummy bomb under the windows of the local department of the FSB, was sentenced to 1.5 years in a colony-settlement.
