On May 24, 2010, Sergei Karataev, suspected of making homemade explosive devices, was detained in Moscow.
In particular, law enforcement agencies suspect him of selling a powerful explosive device equipped with a radio fuse and two radio signal transmitters to unknown persons on April 24, 2010. (According to other reports, while selling this or a similar device, S. Karataev was caught red-handed).
According to law enforcement agencies, S. Karataev, a 21-year-old native of the Sasovsky district of the Ryazan region, is the leader of one of the far-right groups. He was previously convicted of beating a native of Tajikistan. (Unfortunately, we do not know the details). During a search of his apartment, about 1 kg of explosives were found.
In addition, at the beginning of May 2010, another far-right activist was detained, who helped S. Karataev make bombs.
The version of Karataev’s involvement in the explosions in the Moscow metro cannot be ruled out.
