At the end of May 2010, the prosecutor's office of the Pioneer garrison of the Kaliningrad region approved an indictment in a criminal case against seven sailors of the Baltic Fleet, accused of hazing in August 2009 on the fact of an incident when they laid out the word "Kavkaz" from their colleagues. The materials of the criminal case were sent to the military court for consideration on the merits.
Vitaly Shakh, Gadzhibakhmud Kurbanov, Arag Eminov, Sirazhutdin Cheriev, Naib Taygibov, Islam Khamurzov, Jamal Temirbulatov were charged under Part 2 of Art. 335 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the statutory rules of relations between military personnel in the absence of subordination relations between them), part 1 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery) and part 1 of Art. 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (extortion).
