The sentence to K. Dushenov came into force

On June 1, 2010, the city court of St. Petersburg upheld the sentence passed by the city's Kirovsky District Court on February 3, 2010, to the editor-in-chief of the Rus Pravoslavnaya newspaper, Konstantin Dushenov, and his "comrades-in-arms" Alexander Malyshev and Petr Meleshko.

Recall that the defendants in the case were convicted under paragraph "c" part 2 of article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred by an organized group). The author of the film and the article, K. Dushenov, was sentenced to 3 years in a colony-settlement, and P. Meleshko and A. Malyshev received 1.5 and 1 year of probation, respectively, with a probationary period of 2 years.

Lawyers P. Meleshko and A. Malysheva stated that they intend to file a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights.
