A criminal case has been opened in Novgorod for posting neo-Nazi materials on the Internet.

On June 9, 2010, the Investigative Department for Veliky Novgorod of the Investigative Committee of the RF Investigative Committee for the Novgorod Region initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity) against 21-year-old Andrei Fedorov, who placed in 2008- 2009 on his page on the social network "Vkontakte" nationalist video files.

According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Novgorod region, the video files contain calls for active violent actions against " "representatives of the Caucasian peoples, Central Asia, individual religious groups and members of the informal anti-fascist movement .

A search was conducted at the place of residence of the network user, during which computer equipment and extremist video files were seized.
