Verdict handed down in anti-Semitic graffiti case
On June 10, 2010, the Pervomaisky District Court of Izhevsk delivered a guilty verdict in the case under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity) against Andrei Mokrushin, a resident of Votkinsk, a member of the RNU (born in 1989), accused of putting anti-Semitic inscriptions on the "Community Center of Jewish Culture of the Udmurt Republic" on March 12, 2010 .
The court sentenced A. Mokrushin to 1 year of suspended liberty, with a probationary period of 1 year.
The verdict did not enter into force.
In accordance with the expert's conclusion, the inscriptions on the building of the community center "contain a direct call to commit violent acts against representatives of a certain ethnic group" . Let us note that, in our opinion, there was no need to involve an expert in order to interpret the inscription "Death to the Jews". In this context, the inscription is interpreted unambiguously.
The case against the second defendant - a 17-year-old teenager - is in court.
