In mid-June 2010, the Kurgan City Court issued a verdict in the case of Dmitry Shuravin, accused of writing xenophobic graffiti on the walls of the city's cathedral mosque in April 2010.
D. Shuravin was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (vandalism motivated by national and religious hatred) and sentenced to 1 year probation.
