New warnings from Roskomnadzor

At the end of June 2010, Roskomnadzor updated the list of “anti-extremist” warnings issued to the media.

Compared to the end of May 2010 , 6 warnings were added to this list: - The editors of the newspaper “News of the Slavs of the South of Russia” for publishing the article by E. Grigorovich “Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of thought... What is it - a myth, reality or the blue dream of the average person ???" in No. 1 (206) for February 2010. The warning was issued in May 2010. Let us recall that in 2009 the editors already received a similar warning, but in what month is unknown. If the previous warning was issued after May 2009, this means that the newspaper received two “anti-extremist” warnings within a year. - The editors of the newspaper “Russian Life” for the publication of A. Kharchikov’s poem “Prepare lists!” in No. 1 (40) 2009. Let us recall that the poem was recognized as extremist and included in the Federal List of Extremist Materials under No. 493. - The editors of the newspaper “Rodina” (probably referring to the organ of the Stavropol regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation) for publishing the article by M. Belolapotko “I am for Soviet power” in No. 11 (808) dated March 18, 2010 (There is an error on the Roskomnadzor website. Number dated March 18, in which the text was published not 11, but 10). As Roskomnadzor emphasizes in the article, “Russians and enemies are openly contrasted with the attribution of negative assessments and characteristics to the enemies . Moreover, the image of the enemy is in a hidden form associated with ... Jews.” Let us remind you that in 2010 the Rodina newspaper was already given a warning, but this warning can hardly be considered a repeat one, because it was issued for publication in the same issue of the newspaper as the previous one (see Resolution of the Russian Armed Forces of June 9, 2010). - The editors of the magazine “Athenaeum” for the publication of articles “From Berlin and Moscow to Jerusalem” by K. von Hoffmeister, “We and the Avdeevites: on the second question we have no disagreement” by M. Kalashnikov and R. Rusov, “The Split of America” Alexandrova, “Guests rule the hosts,” and “Genocide: the truth about the destruction of the Russian people” in No. 9-10, 2009. - The editors of the electronic periodical “Agency of Political News” (“APN”) for publishing on the Internet at http://www.apn.ru/news/comments22896.htm#comments comments on the material “The Ostankino court closed the newspaper “To the Barrier” " Let us remind you that we consider the warning to be unlawful , since the editors did not have the opportunity to correct the violations within the period prescribed by Roskomnadzor. - The editors of the newspaper “Vedomosti are published jointly with The Wall Street Journal & Financial Times” (as on the Roskomnadzor website - ed .) for the publication of M. Kucherskaya’s article “Eternal Values. Communication failure” in No. 63 (2581) dated April 9, 2010. Let us remind you that we consider the warning to be unlawful . Thus, for the period from January to June 2010, Roskomnadzor issued 21 warnings, of which we consider 5 to be unlawful.
