At the end of July 2010, the Vyborg District Court of St. Petersburg passed a verdict in the case of minors accused of attacking passengers on the Roshchino-St. Petersburg commuter train in November 2008, as a result of which Uzbek citizen Sh. Ergashev died.

Four teenagers (previously it was reported about five defendants) were found guilty under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred). Anton M., who stabbed a citizen of Uzbekistan, was also convicted under Part 4 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous harm to health, dangerous to human life, motivated by national hatred, resulting in the death of a person through negligence).

Anton M. was sentenced to 7.5 years to be served in a maximum security colony. Two minors were sentenced to 3 years with a probationary period of 4 years, another teenager was sentenced to 2 years probation with a probationary period of 4 years.
