St. Petersburg: a gang of murderers and robbers committed crimes motivated by national hatred

August 26, 2010 in St. Petersburg against 12 people was initiated a criminal case under Art. 209 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (banditry). At the same time, according to investigators, some crimes were committed motivated by national hatred, but which ones, to unfortunately not reported.

Investigators believe that the leaders of the gang are 30-year-old former police officer Viktor Ponomarenko and 27-year-old Roman Aliyev, convicted, stateless. They met after how the last one, having left the places of detention, met with a 30-year-old district police officer, who was supposed to supervise him on duty. Together they organized a gang, which, among other things, included two residents of the village of Kommunar in the Priozersky district of the Leningrad region, four citizens of Azerbaijan (24, 26, 27 and 30 years old), 32-year-old a citizen of Georgia and three residents of St. Petersburg (30, 31 and 37 years old).

The gang was armed, in its arsenal was an OSA pistol and a smoothbore weapon.

In addition, police officers were used in crimes. certificate, which the former district police officer kept after his dismissal from law enforcement.

It is reported that 7 people were arrested, one is in the federal wanted, one - on bail. Another person was released and one died.
