6 members of Hizb ut-Tahrir convicted in Bashkiria

On September 22, 2010, the Magistrate's Court of Court District No. 3 Ordzhonikidzevsky district of Ufa delivered a verdict in the case of six people accused in cooperation with Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Three of them - Rustem Latypov, Azat Lukmanov, Albert Shakirov - were found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organizing the activities of a religious extremist organization) and sentenced to 2 years in prison in a correctional colony of general regime.

Two were convicted under the same article and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment conditionally with a probationary period for 3 years. Another one was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the activities of a religious extremist organization) and sentenced to 1.5 years in prison conditionally with a probationary period of 3 years. Three received suspended sentences: Ildar Mukhametdinov, Shamil Khusniyarov and Ilgiz Salakhov.

Recall that on September 21, 2010, a guilty verdict was passed against members of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Tyumen . In Tatarstan, a criminal case has been initiated on involvement in the activities of this organization.
