A guilty verdict was handed down in Tatarstan in the case of collaboration with Hizb ut-Tahrir

On September 23, 2010, it became known that the Chistopol City Court of Tatarstan passed a guilty verdict on two members of the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, whose activities were banned throughout Russia by the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation in 2003.

Rivgat Gubaidullin and Ildar Akhmetzyanov were found guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the activities of an extremist organization) and Part 1 of Article 150 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (involving a minor in the commission of a crime).

The investigation found that from 2003 to March 2010, the convicts “propagated the criminal goals” of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Chistopol in order to increase the number of members of the organization.

R. Gubaydullin was sentenced to eight months of suspended imprisonment, I. Akhmetzyanov was sentenced to a year of imprisonment in a colony-settlement.

The verdict has not yet entered into force.

It should be reminded that on September 22, in Ufa, a guilty verdict was passed against six people accused of collaborating with Hizb ut-Tahrir.
