The SOVA Center presented the collection “Racism: Modern Western Approaches” to the expert community and civil activists

The presentation was attended by members of the editorial board of the publication: director of the Information and Analytical Center "Sova" Alexander Verkhovsky , chief researcher of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Shnirelman , deputy director of the Center for Independent Sociological Research Oksana Karpenko and researcher of this institution Alexander Osipov .

As guests of the event, employees of leading Russian human rights, analytical and scientific centers and institutions, whose work is somehow related to the topic under discussion, as well as activists of the anti-fascist movement, were invited.

As members of the editorial board said, the collection was published in order to offer the Russian community new, developed in the West, approaches to the topic of racism, to eliminate the existing conceptual gap in understanding this phenomenon. The book includes texts of both "academic" and "practical" nature, initially aimed at different audiences. Therefore, the publishers hope that it will be useful to scientists, public activists, and officials.

Many of the invited experts took part in the discussion of the issues raised.
