Case of grave desecrator closed in Tver

In October 2010, it became known that on September 15 of this year, the Kalininsky District Court of the Tver Region dismissed the criminal case against 50-year-old Evgeny Maksimov. Let us remind you that the man was accused of inciting national hatred (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) for repeated desecration of graves at the Dmitrovo-Cherkassky cemetery, as well as for xenophobic inscriptions on posters and posters in Tver.

The case was dismissed in accordance with Part 2 of Art. 443 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, i.e. the court recognized that the illegal actions were committed by the defendant in a state of insanity (E. Maksimov suffers from a mental illness - paranoid schizophrenia), but did not consider it necessary to apply compulsory medical measures to him, because he poses no danger to himself or to society.
