Attacks on Africans in Moscow

Since the beginning of 2010, there have been at least 13 attacks on black people in Moscow.

In mid-March 2010, a diplomat from Sierra Lyon and his driver, also black, were attacked near the Mayakovskaya metro station. In the underground passage, the men encountered a group of young people, about 15 people, who, seeing the Africans, began to shout loudly, and then began to strike. Luckily, the victims managed to escape. Both received minor injuries.

On April 1, 2010, on a commuter train, one of the passengers unexpectedly approached a Cameroonian citizen and hit him several times. The attacker was stopped by a random witness - a retired military man.

On August 20, 2010, a citizen of Ghana was attacked in one of the Moscow supermarkets. A young man, apparently 25 years old, suddenly threw two bottles at an African, hitting him in the head. The security guards of the store did not provide assistance to the victim and did not try to detain the attacker. When the Ghanaian went out into the street, he saw that the young man was following him. Luckily, the man managed to escape.

In August 2010, in the Okhotny Ryad metro area, two young people, 18-20 years old, suddenly attacked a visitor from Nigeria and started beating him. A police officer arrived to help, who detained the attackers and took the Nigerian to the hospital.
