Something is wrong with our opposition, I think today. Watching her is a pleasure. No, even two. It is a pleasure to follow the bends of the positions of human rights activists, another - to observe the artistic game in the fundamentalness of Eduard Limonov. I don’t even know who I would ask to go to BIS.

The signal of the attack on Limonov was his impolite words addressed to Lyudmila Alekseeva. What has begun! And my colleague in the Hedgehog Anton Oresh, innocently expressed everything that he thinks of him. And the ulcer Dmitry Oreshkin picked up the topic, carefully turning Limonov inside out before the whole world. And the ironic Ilya Milshtein loud about the impenetrable infantility of Limonov. And the neat Boris Vishnevsky, remembering the whole Limonov’s life, wondered: is it now to go out with him to the square and now give him a hand? And even thoughtful Julia Latynina drove along Limonova, reminding him that Alekseeva is “the mother of Teresa of the Russian dissident movement” and “never received anything for herself.” Arguments, frankly, are doubtful, so as not to say funny, but not the case. But the fact is that everything written in the last days about Limonov by these authors and many others is a real truth. And about his national-Bolshevik preferences, and about his posture, bonapartism and narcissism, and about the future that he has prepared for all, standing temporarily in the ranks of the democratic opposition. That's right!

But why only now, when he touched Alekseev with impolite words? Why was he only remembered by all that political dirt to which he was involved? After all, he was like this when all the same oppositionists invited him to march next to them, and many of the publicists who now scold him admired such a wonderful anti -Putin’s unity. It turns out that relations in the opposition environment are akin to the fact that they existed according to Dumas in the royal family of Louis XIII? Just not to hurt personally, not to change the spouse, and political purity is a tenth business.

But what about Limonov himself? He is on a horse! He is modestly proud, radiantly shines and with visible pleasure seems to the victim of the insidious betrayal of human rights activists. And interestingly, he has reason for that. He did not go to an extra -cream conspiracy with the authorities, he was fundamental and consistent in upholding the right to freedom of manifestation. What were he had deep motives and what kind of person he was in general. But in defending general constitutional law, he wiped his nose to human rights activists. And the human rights activists understood this, and realizing that they lost Tactically Limonov, spoke about strategic disagreements with him and his personal shortcomings. The fact that he is hypocritical and completely different goals are hiding behind his words. Late remembered and not about that, but better late than never.

Limonov, in fact, is an excellent tactician. Like many usurpators, dictators and insurgents. He understands that static rallies under the supervision of the police do not lead to anything. That multiple repetition from the stands in front of a few or thousands of audience even very correct slogans leads to anything. That the creation of another dull organization with a very correct program and helpless functionaries does not lead to anything. He feels the mood of the crowd and calls it to action, to confront with power, to protest. He offers movement, battle. He feels that many are tired of walking and raining, they want to resist this power in clashes with her. He plays at the strings of impatience and our national habit to chop it out first, and then think. A hundred years ago, he would no doubt the leader of the crowd and would lead the mob on the barricades. Today he is unlikely to succeed, but his tactical skill is still in demand. Not only in the impatient and hard thinking youth, but also the democratic opposition who wants to use it as a tool. Eh, how many times it was said that the goal does not justify the means. The tool may be stronger than those hands that they wanted to use it.

What next? While everyone is sitting in their corners, not understanding what they will do without each other. One lacks respectability, the other is drive. As Gogolevskaya Agafya Tikhonovna said, “if the lips of Nikanor Ivanovich and to put Ivan Kuzmich to the nose ...” But since they are not even trying to “assign”, perhaps everything will return to the previous rails. Now Sergey Udaltsov, the fighter for the revival of socialism in Russia, forgetting about Limonov, plays at the authorized rally on the triumphal. Already, Limonov himself is ready to forget the perch and again participate in joint events if the authorities do not limit the number of participants. “Mother Teresa” will take the next permission for a rally with a coordinated number of participants and the constitutional right to freedom of manifestation will shine over Moscow with extraordinary force!

The raspings can really be forgotten. You can also forget everything that has been written in recent days about strategic discrepancies with Limonov. As if there was nothing and no one still knows anything. However, as Mikhail Berg rightly noted , the level of claims to the regime of the parties is different. These strategic differences will certainly make themselves felt. Even the current conflict is experienced very painfully. Reputational losses are evident. And whether there is yet!

In order to avoid this, democratic opposition, it is time to stop taking Limonov and abandon the detrimental practice to make an agreement on a rally on personal agreements. This path, of course, is more thorny and less pleasant, but it will allow you to attract loyal supporters, and not random fellow travelers. And, by the way, to avoid the repetition of scandals that are inevitable in the further cooperation of the democratic opposition with Limonovites and other red-brown formations.
