On November 16, 2010, the Chief Mufti of St. Petersburg, Jafar Ponchaev, reported that about 70 thousand people came to the St. Petersburg Cathedral Mosque to celebrate Kurban Bayram (according to Vremya Novostei - about 40 thousand). About 500 people prayed on the street in front of the prayer room on Apraksin Dvor, because... there was not enough space in the room.

In Moscow, about 70 thousand people gathered for prayer in front of the cathedral mosque near the Prospekt Mira metro station, which caused a multi-kilometer traffic jam on nearby highways.

In total, in Moscow, according to the Central Internal Affairs Directorate, 80 thousand people took part in the celebration of Kurban Bayram.
