October 29, 2010 Lomonosovsky district court of the city of Arkhangelsk terminated the proceedings on the recognition as extremist material of the book by V. Istarkhov "Blow of the Russians gods". The case was dismissed on the basis of the refusal of the prosecutor from the claim.
Recall that the "Strike of the Russian Gods" is included in the Federal list of extremist materials back in November 2008 (p. 292). AND although this decision was later canceled (and reconfirmed only at the beginning of June 2010 ), no one excluded the book from the list. Prosecutor's offices a number of regions, relying on the list, have repeatedly fined stores for distribution of the book. While the prosecutor's offices of other regions filed lawsuits to ban an already banned (or rather supposedly banned) book, and the courts accepted these claims. Thus, the situation with the "Strike of the Russians gods" began to turn into a protracted circus performance, revealing a number of problems associated with the implementation of anti-extremist prohibitions.
