On December 17, 2010, a preliminary consideration of the claim of the Barnaul and Altai diocese against priestGeorgy Titov took place in the Leninsky District Court of Barnaul. The diocese demands that the obstacles that the priest “poses to the Ascension parish of the Russian Orthodox Church and its new rector be removed.”
Let us recall that in August 2010, at a parish meeting, a decision was made to withdraw the Ascension parish from the jurisdiction of the ROC MP and transfer to the jurisdiction of the ROCOR(A).
This decision was immediately followed by a decree from the local bishop removing Fr. Georgy Titov from the post of rector of the Ascension Church and clarification from the administrative manager of the Patriarchate . The rector appealed his removal from office in court, arguing that the transfer to another jurisdiction had already taken place. However, the Leninsky District Court refused to consider the claim of priest Georgy Titov against the diocese with the wording “The case is not subject to consideration in court.”
